Brett Davidson
HubSpot & Operations Consultant · Data, Systems & AI
Data is the foundation of every good decision, yet most businesses struggle to understand what their data is telling them. As the Head of Client Services for PS&Co’s Data Lab, I help companies architect HubSpot CRM systems, build Shopify lifecycle and automation programs, and create reporting frameworks that make the answer clear. I work with teams to figure out where AI actually fits in their business. Based in Vancouver, BC, working with companies across Canada and North America.
What I Do
Data-informed operations consulting — HubSpot CRM, Shopify, marketing technology, reporting, and AI adoption — for Canadian businesses and remote teams across North America.
HubSpot CRM + RevOps Architecture
Pipeline design, custom objects, automation, and reporting built around your actual revenue data — so leadership sees what’s happening and why, not just what they hope is happening.
Data, Reporting & Insights
Dashboards, survey programs, and executive-ready reporting that turn CRM, customer, and operational data into decisions. Built on a research methods foundation — not just a spreadsheet.
Shopify Operations + Lifecycle Growth
Retention flows, conversion rate improvement, lapsed customer engagement, and promotional strategy built on store performance data. From BFCM campaigns to subscription direction.
AI Tool Adoption
AI is evolving faster than any playbook, which is why I focus on building adaptable habits and judgment, not locking teams into a specific stack that looks different in six months. Practical, low-friction adoption: finding where AI actually saves time, and making it stick.
Sales, Service, and Marketing Operations
Sales process design, ticketing workflows, inbox strategy, and service processes built around the data that shows where friction lives. Designed so teams move faster and more consistently with less complexity.
Enablement & Systems Adoption
Training, SOPs, Loom walkthroughs, and repeatable playbooks so the systems I build are actually used after I leave. Increasingly, this includes helping teams build sustainable habits around AI tools as those tools continue to evolve.
Recent Work
Led and supported event research programs focused on attendee feedback and economic impact. Provided on-site survey support for 110+ events. Built and packaged insights for stakeholders using dashboards and executive-ready visuals. Developed discovery strategy and call direction for event organizations, including a Breakaway Festivals intro call focused on ticketing.
Implemented Sales & Service Hub for development team. Built automated tax receipt delivery using HubSpot workflows and Portant. Led the approach for multi-year deal structure and revenue recognition visibility using a parent-child deal framework built around finance reporting needs. Automated program intake and data storage for program journey.
Standardized delivery assets and enablement across the team: templates, sequences, and SOPs that made client work more repeatable. Supported HubSpot partner-growth initiatives and client access management strategy. Helped evolve service offerings deeper into HubSpot across Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, and CMS considerations.
Built and iterated lapsed customer flows with segmentation by customer value tiers. Planned and supported BFCM strategy using performance benchmarks and a tight campaign structure (3 sends: launch, Cyber Monday, final reminder). Facilitated weekly marketing execution rhythms and provided email and SMS campaign support. Built subscription strategy direction based on best-in-class models. Also working toward improving a Shopify conversion rate from 0.79% toward a 2.5% benchmark.
Founder and operator of B&C Golf, a Shopify-based golf brand. Rebuilding and improving the site using Shopify CMS. Developing a content strategy around The B&C Golf Podcast and blog to build brand presence. Pursuing wholesale partnerships with golf courses and pro shops, and building wholesale enablement assets including a one-pager and line sheet.
My Process — DRIVE
My 5-step framework for connecting every project to a real outcome.
Discover
Learn, learn, learn. I dig into the existing systems, data, and team workflows before touching anything to understand the real problem, not the assumed one.
Roadmap
Map every deliverable to a business outcome: pipeline visibility, time saved, conversion lifted. If it doesn’t tie to a result, it doesn’t get built.
Implement
Build clean, documented, and maintainable systems for the team that inherits them — not just the person who designed them.
Validate
Define what success looks like before launch, then confirm the build actually delivers it — with dashboards and reporting that make the answer obvious.
Evolve
Refine based on real usage data and team feedback, not gut feel. We’re unlikely to get everything perfect the first time.

About
Based in Vancouver, BC. My approach to every project starts with the data — what it’s telling you, what it isn’t, and what decisions it should be driving. I’ve been working with AI tools since ChatGPT changed the conversation in 2022. The pace hasn’t slowed down, which is why I focus on building adaptable habits and judgment rather than prescribing specific tools that may look completely different in six months. Outside of work: my passions include golf, hockey, and fitness. Competitive by nature, whether it’s a sport or a problem worth solving.
Operating Principles
Signature Strengths
- I turn chaos into structure.
- I build for adoption, not perfection.
- I help businesses understand and act on their documentation.
- I connect every build to a measurable outcome: time saved, pipeline visibility, conversion, retention.
- I’m equally comfortable in exec-level strategy conversations and hands-on implementation.
- I think in data: what it’s saying, what it isn’t, and what decision it should be driving.

Writing
Practical notes on HubSpot, data, AI, and operations. The kind of content that would have saved me hours — and might save you some too.
I’ll be publishing practical guides, honest takes, and things I’m learning in real time — including how AI tools are actually changing the way operational work gets done.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about my background, work, and areas of expertise.
What HubSpot services do you offer?
My work spans data-informed operations across HubSpot CRM architecture, pipeline design, reporting and dashboards, Shopify lifecycle programs, AI tool adoption, and team enablement. Every project starts with the data and connects back to a measurable outcome.
Do you work with Canadian businesses?
Yes. Based in Vancouver, BC and working at PS&Co, my client experience spans Canadian businesses across multiple industries, including remote engagements across North America.
How long does a HubSpot implementation take?
A focused single-hub setup typically takes 4-8 weeks. Full RevOps architecture projects spanning multiple hubs, custom objects, and automation commonly run 2-4 months. My process starts with a discovery phase to scope the project accurately so timelines are realistic from day one.
Are you a certified HubSpot consultant?
Yes. I hold eight HubSpot certifications: Marketing Software, Sales Software, Service Hub Software, Inbound Marketing, Email Marketing, Content Marketing, Reporting, and CMS for Beginners. I work at PS&Co, a HubSpot partner agency based in Canada.
What industries have you worked in?
My HubSpot and operations experience spans non-profits, e-commerce, events and sports organizations, and membership associations. I have implemented HubSpot for clients ranging from a non-profit arts organization to a major sporting events research firm.
Do you offer Shopify consulting as well?
Yes. Shopify lifecycle growth has been a significant part of my work — including retention flows, BFCM campaign strategy, email and SMS (Klaviyo), conversion rate optimization, and subscription strategy. I also run my own Shopify brand, B&C Golf, which gives me an operator’s perspective alongside the strategic work.
How do you approach AI adoption when it’s changing so fast?
Honestly and carefully. AI tools are evolving faster than any playbook or certification can keep up with — which is why I focus on building judgment and adaptable habits rather than prescribing specific tools. My approach: identify where a team actually loses time, test options that fit today, build simple workflows around the best current fit, and design the process to be easy to update as tools evolve. The goal is staying useful as things change, not predicting the future.
