Privacy Policy

How this site handles the information you share with it. Plain and short, because that is how it should be.

This site (brettdavidson.ca) is the personal consulting site of Brett Davidson, based in Vancouver, BC. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can do about it.

What I collect

  • Contact form details. If you use the contact form, I collect the name, email address, and message you choose to submit. You control what you share.
  • Basic usage data. Like most sites, this one uses analytics to understand how it is used - pages visited, general location (city/country level), device and browser type. Some of this is aggregate and cookieless; some relies on cookies. None of it is used to personally identify you.

How I use it

  • To read and respond to messages you send me.
  • To understand which parts of the site are useful and improve it.

I do not sell your information, and I do not send marketing emails to people who fill out the contact form unless they ask me to.

Who processes it

A couple of trusted third-party services help run the site:

  • HubSpot - contact-form submissions are sent to and stored in HubSpot so I can follow up with you.
  • Google Analytics - provides anonymous usage statistics; uses cookies.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics - provides aggregate traffic statistics without cookies and without tracking you across sites.

Each has its own privacy practices governing the data it handles.

Cookies

Google Analytics relies on cookies; Ahrefs Web Analytics does not. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works fine either way.

Keeping and deleting your data

I keep contact-form messages only as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of our conversation. If you would like me to delete the information you have shared, or to see what I hold, just email me and I will take care of it.

Your choices

You can ask me to access, correct, or delete your information at any time. Email brett@brettdavidson.ca and I will respond promptly.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top of the page.
